Privacy Policy
Steady Growth Reading (“the site”) is operated by (“we,” “us”). We built the site for young children, so we collect as little information as possible. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the site.
Information we do not collect from children
Children do not create accounts on the site. We do not ask children for their names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, voices, or locations, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Information saved only on your device
Stars, badges, scores, sight words learned, reading log entries, fluency scores, and writing typed into the site are saved in your web browser’s storage on your own device. This information is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. A name typed on the certificate is not saved.
Information from parents, teachers, and other buyers
If an adult buys access to the full program, the purchase is handled by our payment provider, . The provider collects the buyer’s name, email address, and payment details to process the payment. We receive the buyer’s name, email address, and purchase details so we can provide access and answer questions. We never receive full card numbers. Only adults may make purchases.
Information collected by services the site uses
- Website hosting. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
- Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser information when the fonts load.
- Read-aloud voice. The read-aloud feature uses the speech voice built into your device or browser. Some devices use online voices provided by the device or browser maker, which may process the words being read.
We do not use advertising, tracking cookies, or analytics on the site, and we do not sell or share personal information.
How we use buyer information
We use buyer information only to provide access, send receipts and important notices about the program, answer questions, and meet legal requirements. We send marketing emails only to buyers who choose to receive them, and every such email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Parents’ rights
Because we do not collect personal information from children, there is no child data on our side to review or delete. Parents can erase anything saved on their own device by clearing the browser’s site data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
